still born

white pupil milky blind to my womb
uttered silence not mute but deafening
the posthumous smell of unscented decay

muffled movements unmoved
frozen like a numbed touch
paralysed world

from within unturning
never returning
a long stationary ride

crouched within a teacup
a cord to keep your health
drowned in the stagnant

liquid which surrounds you clenched
fists weighted with innocent anger
unclench them for these burning tears

your dolorous night will never cease
from this pregnant coffin to another
a coffin full of murdered hopes

undone childhood
you are, you were, I am
unopened and unforgiving

the ether is cottoned with my lament
as you ceased to be even before you began
your natural procession

stasis in our darkness
I will deliver you
stilled life yet still born

Stark Indifference

image

This austerity is deliriously restrictive
Black suit, white shirt, black tie
Pinned lovers, her and I

We are obliged to keep decorum as
These carnal pearls move to caress sweetness
Compliments to my dishevelled neatness

Temptation riddles the stillness of her hand
While grit and gravel stone my delicate steps
My wickedness tousles the folds of my dress

But the heat of your perversity intrudes
Voyeur of our darkened affair
My nonchalance shames your envious stare

The placidity of this field covets us
Unfastened, deflowered, left to chance
We are complacent in our idyllic stance
